Proverbs 3:13 says, “How blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and gains understanding.”  Let’s face it, we can all use wise counsel in the various seasons of our life, whether we’re single, married, parents, or grandparents.  Life can throw difficult challenges our way.  While Chase Oaks does not have its own counseling center, we do network with some of the best Christian Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) in the North Dallas area.  Did you know that in order for a counselor to have the letters LPC behind their name, they must go through more than 3,000 hours of supervised counseling experience under another professional counselor?  That’s in addition to their education.  Perhaps you are wondering what all those letters behind a counselor’s name stand for.  They are important to know if you are going to connect to the right counselor.  (See counselor credentials) 

At Chase Oaks we want to help you connect to the best counselor for your particular needs.  That’s why our Pastoral Care Ministry maintains an updated list of counselors that we recommend.  Just call our church office (972.783.8800) and ask for the Pastoral Care Ministry or email me, Pastor Steve McPherson, at spmcpherson@chaseoaks.org.  We will help guide you through your next steps to hope, help and healing.  I know it can be difficult to make the first phone call, but let me encourage you to step out and get the help you need.  All calls will be handled confidentially. 

Listed below are a few of the counselors that we recommend.  If you need additional information or assistance, give us a call.  If you do call the counselor’s office, be sure and ask about insurance coverage, as your counseling fees may be partially or fully covered.  Some of the counselors have a sliding fee scale that varies depending on your financial situation.  Be sure and ask about that as well.  Again, you will need to clarify these options with your counselor.
